To say Lee Isserow has become the King of Cliffhangers is an understatement. Once again following Ben has left me screaming "No, what happens next?" Devilish writer, indeed. I am very much enjoying this crazy ride of Ben's. I can't wait to see where this story leads.

This story continues as another unique twist with a horror/fantasy story. This is book two. There are new characters introduced. One of my favorites is the boy Luke. This is a story where the truths come out. Through these truths we see a further development with the character Ben. Try this book! I would recommend reading the first one first.
Ben is now a prisoner of the blood driven what the blood squad calls them.
After week's go by he's so confused as who is the real bad Guy's and who is to be trusted. After he learned from the group that has him as a hostage. He made big mistake beforehand now he has to chose a side. Well he make the Right choice?
Big Cliffhanger at the end. Get to meet new characters some likeable and some not. Still no where close to finding out anything about the blood but little bits and pieces here and there. When Ben and the other's in the dark about we are also.

Review of THE BLOOD LIES

An aspect of this series which I so enjoy is the lack of need for suspension of disbelief. The series is near-futuristic, and relies on science in terms of medical conditions and forensics. Some of the characters are skeptics, and some started out that way and came around to a different way of thinking, and those processes, and the disparate viewpoints of the characters, allow the reader to slip into the story and really enjoy it, no matter her or his initial take on the topic.
Another intriguing aspect is that each installment is so well-written, and I get caught up in the story immediately. The protagonist, Ben, is a character who readily elicits empathy an adult with a tragic past, who has spent three decades wanting vengeance, only to discover that he was quite possibly focused in the wrong direction. But then, how could he have known? Now that he does know (he thinks), he jumps in headfirst and participates in the strange activities of THE BLOOD SQUAD, an organisation responsible and answerable to—whom? Ben doesn't know. Nor does he know why these “hemogoblins” as they're called first came into existence. All he knows is that they are fatally dangerous—but that's not all the dangers he encounters. Once again, author Lee Isserow delivers a serious cliffhanger which makes readers demand, “What next?” So thankful this series releases a new installment a month. {smile}
